    Mac version wishlist

    Some suggestions for the Mac version (in no particular order):
    1. Font sizes are small making it difficult for people with poor eyesight. (I donít think this can be changed via in the Accessibility pane in System Preferences but I could be wrong.);
    2. The ability to specify a path to a non-library based backup copy of the project which would be automatically backed up at the end of a session.;
    3. Reduce/consolidate the number of managers, perhaps via a tabbed interface. Alternatively or additionally provide an ability to save and call up particular configurations of windows;
    4. Give more control over which columns are included in Excel output and add the ability to export a text file;
    5. On the code forest provide a command to expand or collapse all and allow it to remember its last state on opening; add a search field to the code forest window;
    6. Provide a simple means of importing a code list rather than the existing pseudo-survey import workaround method;
    7. Provide a wizard for importing survey data;
    8. It appears not to be possible to enter a quotation number in the format n:nn into a query;
    9. Move search box on managers or alignment of drop-down so menu can be clearly seen;
    10. Enable find and replace in memos.

    Hi there,

    Thank you very much for your suggestions! They will be forwarded to our Mac development team and considered for implementation.

    BTW, you can also send suggestions directly to mac@support.atlasti.com; this will actually work more directly than posting in the forum.

    All the best!

    Question More/ expanded suggestions as of Dec 2017

    [QUOTE=BealBocht;14471]
    "1. Font sizes are small making it difficult for people with poor eyesight. (I donít think this can be changed via in the Accessibility pane in System Preferences but I could be wrong.);"
    I experience the same problem, the view menu options for zooming are greyed out

    "2. The ability to specify a path to a non-library based backup copy of the project which would be automatically backed up at the end of a session.;"
    It would then also be possible to have always a second copy in a cloud...

    "3. Reduce/consolidate the number of managers, perhaps via a tabbed interface. Alternatively or additionally provide an ability to save and call up particular configurations of windows;"
    Especially when working with long code lists, it would be particularly helpful to be able to open different code groups in tabs. This is the more important, because there seems to be no option to "vreate a new link" or the like. It is extremely unpractical to deag and drop a code over 400 others to relate it to another one... Even if this would become possible, it would be nevertheless of great help to be able to compare different code groups in tabs/ two windows next to each other...

    "4. Give more control over which columns are included in Excel output and add the ability to export a text file;"
    Especially when you use codes also to organize your data (i.e. in a descriptive way) it would be very important to be able to specify which codes shall be exported and which not.

    New
    - It would be great to be able to "attach" (i.e. relate) memos to codes, so that they appear in the Code Information pane (e.g. under Linked Codes sth such as linked memos)
    - It would be great to be able to link external information, like another document to a code (such as a newspaper article on a particular topic)
    - And finally, it would be very important to be able to edit the text of imported documents. Many mistakes/ mispellings and the like are often found during coding when you closely engage with the data. Now I descriptively coded these parts with "sic!" which however makes the code list bigger
    - It would be wonderful for analyses to be able to save the code-co-occurrence table not only as a smart code, but as an image, too Ė i.e. having an option to save these co-occurrence searches (e.g. expanding the network manager to an analysis manager might be a way. I am also not sure why smart codes appear in the code list -- although they relate to a very different level of analysis. Smart Codes could be also part of the analysis manager, maybe in different tabs. The same might be true for the link manager.The menu analyses could be expanded, which would also make the introductory steps for beginners easier in that beginners only have to cope with the first level of abstraction, i.e. understanding the interrelationship between documents, quotations and different kinds of codes and the respective menu items... All forms of relations come usually as a second step, i.e. during the analysis of the existing codes and quotations).

    Hope this was understandable,
    All best
